Make It Easier for Your Market to Find You

By Mario Churchill Sometimes, the reason why a product or service fails is not because it is not relevant to its consumers, but because your market may not be aware you exist. If this is the case, you might as well close shop and do something else, or allow your business to be enhanced by marketing search engine tools. With the current lifestyle and habits of consumers, it is almost always fatal to not be able to be available to your market through the Internet. Almost anyone and everyone uses the Internet one way or another and more and more people go to the web to look for specific products and services. When a potential customer logs on the web and searches the Internet for a product or service that you may be offering and finds your competitor instead of you, that’s a lost business opportunity that you can never get back. You need to have a website that serves as a showcase of your products or services. It would be ideal to have your site allow your visitors to be able to purchase your product or service through your site. At the very least, you need to have your business contact details available for your visitors to see so that they can contact you for further queries or to purchase your product or service. Having a website is just the first step however. Nowadays, it is not enough to simply have a website and be online. Despite a wonderful website with an interface and design that makes it easy for your visitors to browse and purchase your services, the first step to making a sale in the Internet is to first get your message across to your consumers. With millions of other online sites that may be offering similar products or services as you, your site needs that added boost that will ensure that it can rise above the rest. When a potential consumer logs on and searches for a particular product or service, the search engine will come back with several results to their query. In most cases, there will be thousands or hundreds of results that will be displayed according to its relevance to the query. Make sure that your site gets itself at the beginning of this list because otherwise, your potential customer will seldom go through all the results. You consumer needs to be guided to your site right away, otherwise your business is gone. To be able to rise above all the other sites that offer similar products and services, you must utilize marketing search engine optimization. This will then allow your site to display as one of the most popular sites for particular search strings or words. This means, your website will appear as one of the first results among other results given back by a search engine given a particular query. Sometimes, you don’t have to be selling a particular service or product to make money online. Utilizing marketing search engine optimization allows your site to become a popular site visited and then you can sell space in your site to special interest groups that can ride on your website’s popularity to sell their products or get their messages across. This makes it a win win situation for all so that using marketing search engine optimization a good thing to take advantage of. Online Dating Etiquette

By Nathalie Fiset Today, as everyone who uses a computer and surfs the Internet knows, the World Wide Web can be used for a large number of reasons, the more popular uses among them being banking and e-commerce, shopping, and finding a partner in love. As the number of users like you has been growing steadily, so has the need for a set of manners and behaviors, or proper cyber dating etiquette, grown. On social matchmaking and dating sites, social etiquette is very important, because today, more and more boys and girls are visiting these sites looking for love or companionship. What this means is that the cyber-dating scene has made it imperative for all you users to follow a certain code of etiquette. This way, any potential cyber faux pas or a break in protocol that would perhaps put you in a tough social situation can be avoided. After all, isn’t it better to know the rules before you start dating, rather than wonder at the end of it all, What happened. I thought we were getting along just fine? The first thing to remember, however, is to never sign yourself into an unknown and less used dating site. It is always a good idea to stick to a good and reputable site, where you can feel most comfortable, and be yourself. Such a dating site would never break your confidence and sell your e-mail identity to unscrupulous persons, and also, this type of site would never allow its users to use profanity in any form. The second thing to remember is to remain completely honest, whenever and wherever possible, in your profile and personal details. The reason is that if you really desire to get to know someone, and like that person, then the truth about you would come out eventually, when you meet him or her. Online dating etiquette therefore dictates that honesty is probably the better policy to follow. You could set up a separate e-mail account, meant just for the purpose of dating. Choose your online user name wisely, and try not to go overboard with it, like for example, no one would actually want to get to know someone called ‘Beach Bum’. Allow some time, at least a week, for a response to come through, and try not to write someone off, based on his or her very first e-mail. After all, he could simply be testing the waters. Remember to check your grammar and spelling, nothing could put someone off as much as bad grammar or poor spelling, and it may give a completely wrong impression about you, if you do not take this simple step in online dating etiquette. Some people wonder, why is there no response from him or her? At times, it is best to know that when you contact someone you think you like, and that person does not respond, then it can be taken to mean that he or she is not interested in you. Experts say that the ‘silent treatment’, whether it is on your side, or on the other, is one of the best solutions to this problem, rather than having to write an entire essay on why he or she does not want to be your friend any more. In the same way, it would be best if you could refrain from asking too many personal questions in the very first e-mail, like for example, Where do you live, and Where do you work? All these questions can be brought up later, when it has been decided that there is indeed interest on both sides. If, however, you decide to end your online relationship, for whatever reason, then the online dating etiquette approves of sending an e-mail to end it, rather than making an embarrassing telephone call. Finally, remember that once you have decided upon one individual, and feel that he or she is the one for you, then do not remain open to other offers. Nothing can put off an individual more than knowing that you are still interested in other people, after you have specifically chosen this one person as the love of your life. Therefore, etiquette says that you must close your account with the dating agency, if you feel that you have met Mr. or Ms Right. Do confirm by a politely worded statement, whether the other person feels the same, like for example, by saying, Don’t you think our profiles can come down now? and then go about closing your account with the online dating agency. Tanning Bed Options and Hints

By George Anderson Having tanned and nice looking skin is becoming more and more important in our society. We often have to use tanning beds in order to get our skin to the desired color. There are a few things that should be done to get the best tan, and the very first one is a good moisturizing lotion. Try to go for high quality moisturizers and tanning lotions not only do they provide a nicer and longer lasting tan but their actions on your skin are also more delicate. Tan extender lotions should also be in your bag when you are using a tanning bed. The main role of this lotion is to keep the tan intensity constant between exposures to the artificial light. Sometimes, if you are not using the moisturizer and extender, you might lose half of the potential tan. However, do not use the same outdoor tanning oils when you are tanning indoors. Because of the differences between natural sunlight and artificial tanning light, the outdoor oils might actually prevent you from getting a good and uniform tan. Being constant about your indoor tanning sessions is important, as skipping a few will put a hold on the process. Your tan develops in time and is a gradual process, and repeated exposure to ultra violet (UV) lights is the only way to keep it going. If you just skipped a session or two, chances are you can go back to your regular tanning schedule without any worries. If you took a longer break, make sure to consult with the manual of your tanning bed and see if you need to start over. You also need to be very careful when planning your initial tanning session, as one exposure time might be just fine for one skin type and disastrous for another. If you are a fair skinned person, try to find a program that will target pigmentation more precisely, without risking burns, of course. Getting to know your skin type is important there are 5 categories, starting from 1 (albino extremely white skin) and going all the way to 5, with highly pigmented skin. Consult your tanning bed manual for exposure times for each skin type, or ask the attendant at the sunning parlor to create a safe and efficient schedule for your particular skin type. Many people wish to eliminate trips to the tanning facility and get their own tanning bed. You may choose the vertical or horizontal tanners. The horizontal ones, also known as capsules, are the classic tanning beds and they are more relaxing than the vertical ones. However, vertical tanning beds do have some strong points, such as a better all-round tan and no pressure points that you get in horizontal tanning beds. Before purchasing the tanning bed you should check the space it requires to be installed and what the electrical specifications are. Models that use more tanning lamps will also eat a lot more electricity on the other hand they are the ones producing the fastest tan. Although the initial cost of the tanning bed will be higher, you might still consider this investment a good one, especially if you are a frequent tanner. George Anderson knows the right way to use both commercial and home tanning beds. Downtown Atlanta Dentists

By Ken Marlborough The commercial hub of Atlanta, downtown Atlanta is an ever growing district. The countless number of trees, buildings and people buzzing with activity are a treat for sore eyes. The Westin Peachtree Plaza, the Georgia Pacific Tower, the Suntrust Plaza, the Marriot Marquis are signatures of success. Tourists’ attractions near the Olympic Park, the Georgia Aquarium is but a few of the places that people visit. A place that holds so many attractions is bound to have busy commercial centers housed by all kinds of professionals offering their services to the people of Atlanta. For this reason, one can easily locate a good dentist here. Downtown Atlanta is the city’s major commercial and financial district. So the number of people spending their working hours in the downtown area is quite high. And, as the incidence of dental problems is also quite high, the availability of dentists in this area is but natural. It would do well to keep in mind that in order to practice aesthetic dentistry or implantology, a dentist does not require any additional training other than a degree in dentistry. So, if looking for someone to perform either of these two procedures, you need to go by reputation and referrals rather than by qualifications. The more cases the dentist has performed relating to these procedures, the better the results. If you have a low pain threshold, check out whether the dental clinic you have approached has adequate facilities to provide suitable pain management procedures. There are many affective pain management that are available to make most procedures pain free. However, if you have any known drug allergy, be sure to tell it to the dentist beforehand. Atlanta Dentists provides detailed information on Atlanta Cosmetic Dentists, Atlanta Dentists, Atlanta Emergency Dentists, Atlanta Family Dentists and more. Ways to Draw Crowds to Your Tradeshow Booth

By Dick Wheeler This is a fairly typical scenario for tradeshow marketing planners: You have made the decision to have a tradeshow exhibit in your industrys leading tradeshow. You have planned properly by selecting the appropriate tradeshow, nailed down the key objectives and goals of your companys tradeshow marketing team, and hired professionals to build a dramatic, eye-popping tradeshow display. Now all you need to do is wait for visitors to find your tradeshow booth. You believe in the motto If you build it, they will come, right? Well, not exactly. With tens of thousands of square feet of tradeshow floor and hundreds of competing tradeshow exhibits, prospects finding their way to your companys tradeshow booth can be an overwhelming challenge. Fortunately, there are proven ways to get crowds to your tradeshow booth. According to Elaine Cohen, Founder/President of Live Marketing in Chicago, you need to be imaginative and pro-active to stimulate tradeshow exhibit traffic. You will need to design a fully integrated crowd-gathering campaign for success in getting visitors to your tradeshow exhibit. Once there, you need to educate them, connect them with a sales representative, and get them to take a desired action. Cohen sites an example of a crowd-gathering tradeshow campaign that she designed to produce highly successful results for Purina Pro Plan at the National Dog Show in Philadelphia in 2005. The campaign was titled The Difference is Real –Real Meat, Real Commitment, Real Experts. The tradeshow live presentation was so successful that it was repeated at the Philadelphias National Dog Show in 2006, and also at the 2006 Chicago Dog Show and the Detroit Kennel Club Show. Cohen not only got people to Purina Pro Plans booth, but had them actively involved once they were at the tradeshow booth: Heres what drew the visitors: The stage was set with banners at the entry to the tradeshow hall announcing Purina was the presenting sponsor of the show. Signage was displayed inside and outside the event venue. In addition, the tradeshow exhibit had the prime location at the hall entrance. High-energy music, visuals of great looking dogs and colorful signage drew tradeshow visitors attention to the Purina Pro Plan tradeshow exhibit and theatre. A crowd-gatherer greeted visitors and directed them to the tradeshow exhibit by inviting them to learn how to get the most out of the show. People movers such as a presenter and a booth ambassador enticed people into the tradeshow booth and moved them from activity to activity. Visitors got insights into how their dogs can lead happy, healthy lives. Purina brought ten staff members to work the exhibitbrand specialists, experts and field sales people. A live theatre presentation featured a presenter who gave away complimentary Purina Pro Plan hats, and entries into a drawing to win a years supply of Pro Plan food for their dog. Pro Plan Frisbees and dog food bag clips were awarded to those who answered questions. The audience eagerly participated. Many tradeshow visitors who wore their hats around the show floor were rewarded by being spotted by roving exhibit staffers. Those who were spotted received coupons. The results were significant: 1,222 consumers experienced the live presentation over the 2-day show. 60-80 people participated per presentation, with many standing and sitting around the theatre area (the theatre had 30 seats). This exceeded the initial goal of 400 by over 300%. 1,672 people completed all three activities. 2,000 Pro Plan hats were distributed. 100 Pro Plan hat wearers received $5.00 off coupons from Pro Plan spotters 1,000 Frisbees were given out. 3,500 coupons were distributed. In order to have a successful tradeshow exhibit experience, therefore, you must have a plan in place to bring people to your tradeshow booth and also give them a good reason to spend time at your tradeshow boothno matter whether your presentation is at the McCormick Convention Center in Chicago, the Kaiser Convention Center in Oakland, the Moscone Center in San Francisco, the Hannover Exhibition Center in Germany or the San Jose McEnery Convention Center. Remember, the next time you exhibit at a tradeshow, by having pied pipers attract a crowd to your audience-focused, live tradeshow presentation, your tradeshow exhibit will become a crowd-pleaser. Budget For Your Garden

By Thomas Murrell Have you ever thought about how much it costs to maintain your garden? Most people never give it much thought – spending the odd day in the garden when they have time and impulse buying plants at the local nursery. But if you’re serious about saving money and adding value to one of you’re most important assets it’s worth thinking about the ongoing costs associated with garden maintenance and how this can be minimized. It’s also worth spending time and money on your garden so your asset appreciates rather than depreciates. For the average size garden you should budget on one full day of maintenance every two months. That’s a total of 6 full days a year. Now if you like gardening, that’s not a problem and it’s probably something you enjoy and get a lot of satisfaction from. But with today’s busy lifestyles, many of us are time poor and might have other priorities than spending time in the garden. So if you can’t make the regular commitment of a day every two months you need to allow for this in your budget. Costs vary, but on average you would pay $20 an hour for a qualified gardener or horticulturist, so this will cost you $160 every two months or $960 a year. Now this is just for general maintenance and doesn’t include more regular jobs such as mowing or pruning. It also doesn’t include costs such as fertilizing or adding to or improving your garden. Some of the larger companies have recognized this opportunity and are now providing professional garden maintenance services. Darrell Canns, General Manager for Yates Garden Care says the market is huge and the garden maintenance business is 10 years behind the franchised lawn mowing industry. Yates are now entering the market with a full range of professional services including basic lawn mowing, weeding, pruning and fertilizing, small landscaping jobs and tree surgery work. They are developing a professional horticultural franchise to help put people in the industry. To make money a franchise owner will need to meet professional standards set by Yates, undergo training by the company and use the Yates brand name. The service has already been successfully established in the eastern states and is being launched in Western Australia soon. Each franchisee will have about 30 or 40 regular customers. The cost to garden owners is varied and depends on the size of the garden and the time of year. Darrell Canns says this may vary from $50 or $60 a month to $300 a week. He believes the difference with other operators is that their people are qualified and the work is guaranteed. He also says they will quote on the total job rather than offer an hourly rate. An example of a fixed price for a specialized service is $400 to redig a garden bed, weed it, fertilize, replant and mulch. There’s an increasing pride in gardens and for people who don’t have a lot of time this is a service that’s appealing because you know what you get and you know how much it will cost. Mr Canns believes consumers trust the Yates brand and the company has the ongoing expertise in gardening and horticulture. The company is also working on a garden valuation service, where Yates will give a written valuation of the replacement cost of the garden and an ongoing maintenance cost. Canns says this will be used by real estate agents to compare properties and provide a tangible and independent figure on what a garden is worth. So in terms of advice what should one do? Here are eight tips: 1. Budget to maintain your garden. Most people underestimate the value of their garden and many people make costly mistakes by neglecting their garden. Plants and trees may die through lack of water, putting in bad stock, not planting properly, and incorrect fertilizing or pruning. Compared to the value of the plants, the maintenance cost is small. 2. Think about the big picture of your garden. What do you want your garden to look like and what sort of theme. 3. Keep your garden simple. Often simple themes work best and feel more spacious. Set one theme and stick to it. Differentiate between decorative elements. Do they relate to the theme of the garden? 4. Avoid too much maintenance. Low maintenance gardens will cost less over the long term. Think about how much time and money you want to put into your garden in terms of maintenance. 5. Understand what you want. For example a garden for a holiday house would be totally different for your normal home. 6. Plan your garden. Work out what works best for different areas. For example shade versus sun and the purpose for which the garden will be used. 7. Avoid big trees in small spaces. Many people put in totally inappropriate trees and plants in areas that are just too small and at a later date it is very expensive to remove those trees. 8. Avoid buying plants on impulse. Roses are often the worst for this. They look great in the nursery in full bloom but can be a disaster. Plan before you buy. Top 10 Viral Marketing Mistakes

By Dan Swanson 1. Failing to understand how to make a marketing piece viral Often people create what they call a viral marketing piece when it is nothing more than a brochure and an advertisement. It is way too self serving. It has no possibility of creating buzz. While there is no guaranteed formula for creating a viral marketing piece, there are many things you can do to increase its effectiveness and its viral nature. 2. Failing to make it interesting enough to pass along Whether or not there are external incentives to encourage the viral spread, if you failed to make the article or e-book interesting enough with high quality content that is useful or entertaining, you couldnt pay them enough to pass it along. If on the other hand it is very useful, high quality or entertaining, it will get passed along with or without any other incentives. 3. Failing to provide incentives to encourage people to pass your message along While there are many successes where the sender was not rewarded for passing on viral information, it works better if you can provide an incentive. Provide an incentive that you dont have to pay up front. Instead provide a success incentive. If the desired outcome is met then you give them money, commissions, discounts, extended memberships, additional MP3 recordings, more articles, more eBooks, etc. Whatever incentive you decide to use, make sure it is easy to sign up for and easy to collect. 4. Failing to provide an incentive for people to respond to your call to action The way to sell with a viral marketing piece is to do so at the very end, in the conclusion, in the summary or in the resource box. It doesnt need to be a hard pitch, just an offer for an ethical bribe that will move them to visit your website, call your 800 number or send an email to get whatever you are offering. Experience has shown that the incentive should be related to your product or service. If you are a law firm, dont offer a chance to win a Corvette or an iPod. Too many unqualified people will sign up and waste your time following up with them. Instead if you are a law firm specializing in Intellectual Property, offer a free e-book on How you can increase the value of your company with patents and trademarks. 5. Failing to effectively promote their viral campaigns Because weve heard of some success stories where no promotion was needed, it is easy to fall into the trap that yours too will be one of those. Im not sure what the statistics are but the vast majority of viral marketing requires promotion to make them successful. 6. Failing to encourage others to pass it along There is a wonderful piece of wisdom you should apply to viral marketing you have not because you ask not. Does your viral marketing ask the reader to pass this along to others? This can be done in the resource box with something very simple like, If you found this useful, please pass it onto others that might be helped by it too. If it is a viral article and you have also it published on your website, have a button or link on the page that says Send to your friends. While it is true the Send to your friends button wont make it viral all by itself you never know which friend that gets it might decide to promote it to their list of 100,000. 7. Failing to send out anything less than a blockbuster success While it would be nice to repeat viral marketing successes like Blair Witch, Hotmail, Purple Cow or ICQ those are rare occurrences. Just because your idea falls a bit short of phenomenal doesnt mean it isnt worth doing. Lets say you shoot for exponential viral results and only obtain a moderate success, it is still a success. The fact you got free visitors to come to your site is great. I love Michael Jordans quote when he attempted to go into baseball after his wildly successful basketball career. I can accept failure, but I cant accept not trying. Even if you think it wont blow away Blair Witchs success, try it anyway. 8. Focusing on a single viral piece rather than a viral process One thing Ive noticed in my business career is that we tend to adopt the John Wayne syndrome, go big or go home. We give it ONE try and if it fails we go home. I dont know of successful business people or successful marketing campaigns that take that approach. Instead of giving it this one shot and then not doing anything after that, create a process for creating, promoting, testing and measuring continual viral marketing efforts. 9. Failing to test and track the results To be successful you need to experiment with different titles for the article or e-book; test different ethical bribes; try different promotional methods; approach different list owners. Find all of the elements that can be tested in your project, test various combinations and measure the results. 10. Not recognizing it is different from word-of-mouth marketing I fell in love with word-of-mouth marketing early in my consulting career. After 10 years of consulting I analyzed every project Id worked on, every client Id worked for and wrote down the source. To my shock, 95% of all of them came from word-of-mouth. The good news was it was cheap (free). The bad news it was unpredictable and couldnt be controlled on-demand like I needed. Viral marketing is like word-of-mouth in that one person passes it on to another but typical word-of-mouth comes from one person asking the other if they know how to solve a problem. It is much more reactive than proactive. Viral marketing is proactive. A person who reads a viral article or e-book immediately thinks of 5, 10, 500 or even 1,000 people that should know about this and they send it via email or put it up on their website or post in on their blog. Viral isnt one person coughing in another persons face, it is one person coughing in a crowded room causing it to spread like wildfire. Dan Swanson is a consultant and entrepreneur. He has created over 275 products for more than 100 clients and helped generate over $2 billion in sales. He helped one of his clients use viral marketing techniques grow from $0 in revenue to over $1 million per day in revenue. How I Lost Weight and Still Ate Junk Food

By Angie Lewis Sound too good to be true? Well think again! Its true, eat what you want whenever you want, and still lose weight. How do I know this? Ive worked the program! This is not a diet. It is a program. If you stick with the program I guarantee, you will lose weight. I usually dont have a problem with my weight, but when I quit smoking, I certainly did. Two weeks after I quit smoking I gained three pounds, and the funny thing was, I was still eating the same amount of food as I was before. After I gained this unnecessary baggage, I knew what I needed to do. Fortunately, I already studied and even participated in a revolutionary new eating program back in the nineties with my husband, and so I knew what to expect and what to do on this program. I can munch on my Pringles, and savor my coffee ice cream whenever I want and still lost weight while doing this program. And so can you! Just ask Harvey and Marilyn Diamond, authors of the best selling book FIT FOR LIFE. They co-authored the Fit For Life book back in 1985, and wrote about this revolutionary new way of eating that has helped thousands lose weight, become healthier, and have more energy. In a nutshell Im going to tell you about it. If you want more details on this program, buy the book or check out their website. Here is how it works. Eat whatever you want, whenever you want, but dont mix a protein food with a starch food. Eat ten baked potatoes if you want, but dont eat any meat with those ten bake potatoes. Or if youre a meat eater, go ahead and eat five steaks, but dont eat starchy foods with your steaks. A starchy food is potatoes, bread, corn, chips, rice, pasta, etc. This way of eating really works! Try it! Eat all the pasta you want, but dont mix meat with it. Eat ten hamburger patties, but dont eat the buns with your patties. Why does this work? Our bodies have a very difficult time assimilating proteins and starches combined. These foods when combined together at a meal take eight to ten hours to fully digest in the stomach. Before the food even has a chance to digest, it begins to rot in the gut. Improper food combining impedes the digestion and elimination cycles. Poor assimilation of food makes our bodies tired and constipated. It takes so much energy trying to digest meat combined with a starch, that all we want to do after eating a poorly combined meal is take a nap. And the food still sits in our stomachs for another twenty hours putrefying! If we only ate the steak with a salad and side of vegetable, it would only take three to four hours to digest. We wouldnt feel tired afterwards, and we could eat all we want of that steak and salad and lose weight! Unbelievable you say? Not really. My husband and I have been on this eating program for over ten years, and we both absolutely love the results. It keeps our weight down and we have so much more energy when we properly combine our food groups. I have been known to come off the program for various reasons; the biggest being not having the opportunity to cook my own meals. If you go off this program, changes do take place in the body the very next day; constipation and lack of energy are the biggest culprits. After several days away from the program major changes take place where it affects the way you look and feel. If you dont feel good you dont look good either. This affects your whole outlook on life, which is detrimental to your spiritual and emotional well-being. Stick with the program! Of course the most important part of this program, as with any program is adhering to it no matter what. Dont think that just because you lost 5 pounds in four weeks, and have more energy that you can stop the program. The most difficult part about this program is not cooking our own meals. Eating out in restaurants or going on vacation can take us out of our eating schedule and we cant always stick to the proper combining of foods. You might find that you gained a few pounds while enjoying your escape from the daily grind, but hey, you can always go back to the program. Just remember, to be fit for life we have to continue the program for optimal weight and energy. Go ahead and try it for a month! And see the results for yourself!
